Margaret Cope

XENIA — Margaret L. Cope age 93, of Xenia, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at Grandview Hospital in Dayton. She was born January 10, 1921 in Greene County, Ohio, the daughter of George Sr. and Samantha Gaffin Robinette. She is preceded in death by her husbands: Clifford Tomlinson and Eugene W. Cope Sr.; siblings: Verna Robinette, George Robinette Jr. and Leon Robinette; Betty Wilson, Jack Clevelle and Regina Tomlinson. She is survived by her children: Betty Jane Parkison of Dayton, Carol Moore, Marsha Chambliss, Eugene (Carla) Cope Jr., David (Gail) Cope and Terry Cope, all of Xenia; brother: Jim Robinette of Miamisburg and sister: Irene Green of Jamestown, as well as 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Cope loved to fish, garden and was an avid mushroom hunter. She especially enjoyed sitting on her back porch and spending time with her family. She was a very self reliant and strong willed lady, who lived independently until her passing. She will be remembered for her loving and welcoming nature, and will be missed by all her knew her. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., with Pastor Brooks Heck officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
