Pearl Stanley

XENIA Pearl Stanley, age 94, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her residence. Lula Pearl Wells Stanley was born January 18, 1919 in Peyton, KY, one of 13 children born to Serena Ellen (Patrick) and Joseph Gardner Wells. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Clarence Stanley; sons: Taylor Neal Stanley and Clarence "Tebby" Stanley; daughter: Ellen Ashton; grandsons: Richard Alan Stanley and Steven Michael Stanley; as well as 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children: Sherman (Nancy) Stanley of Kettering; Betty (Ronnie) Bowshier of Springfield; Ellen Reynolds and Scarlett Stanley, both of Xenia; and Chris (Taylor) Stanley of Beavercreek; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren; a brother: Joseph Wells of Fairborn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was retired from Greene County Health Dept. Pearl had also worked during WWII at WPAFB as an airplane mechanic; and later at the drug store in Yellow Springs. She was a wonderful mother, who never said a discouraging word. She will be missed. Pearl's family would like to express their appreciation for the care that was shown to their mother during this time from the entire staff of Hospice of Dayton. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 14, 2013 at McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc. 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Interment to follow in Byron Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in her memory.
