Rebecca Catharine Miars Collett

YELLOW SPRINGS Rebecca Catharine Miars Collett, 91, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at Friends Care Community in Yellow Springs, Ohio. She was born January 23, 1922, at New Burlington, Ohio the daughter of C. D. and Hetty Walton Miars. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 65 years, Charles F. Collett, her parents, her brother Walton Miars and her sister Ruth Esther Conklin Curlett. Rebecca attended school at New Burlington, Kingman High School, and Wilmington College. She worked at the Xenia National Bank during World War II, and later at Collett Hardware in Spring Valley and Collett Hardware and Propane in Wilmington. She was a lifelong active member of New Burlington Friends Meeting and the United Society of Friends Women. She was devoted to her family and friends and loved spending time with them, always bringing cheer. She enjoyed birds, flowers, music, quilting, her Super-Dominoes group, and winters in Venice, Florida. Rebecca is survived by her children, Bob (Susan) Collett of Millersburg, Ohio, Connie Collett of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Steve (Karla) Collett of Wilmington, Ohio, and Nancy Collett (Steve) Dal Pian of Port Charlotte, Florida, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Sunday, September 29, 2013, at New Burlington Friends Meeting, 2938 State Route 380, South of Xenia. Services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday at the church.
