Richard J. Killoren

FAIRBORN Richard J. Killoren, age 94 of Fairborn, passed away Tuesday November 27, 2012. He was born June 30, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of the late Thomas E. and Mary E. (Crowe) Killoren. Richard served his country in the United States Army during World War II and followed with employment in civil service at Wright-Patterson AFB as a patent advisor, retiring in 1980 after 35 years of combined federal service. He was a member of Mary, Help of Christians Church and NARFE; and a lifetime member of American Legion Dignam-Whitmore Post 526 in Fairborn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five sisters, Catherine, Margaret, Frances, Winifred, Loretta; and a grandson, Jacob Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Luella; four children, Mary (Allen) Okan of Fairborn, Donna Miller of Fairborn, Thomas Killoren of Fairborn, Joan (Albert) Kelly of New Carlisle; nine grandchildren, Angela, Ted, Kevin, Chrissy, Jen, Doug, Joshua, Jeremy, Justin; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Phyllis Killoren of Minnesota; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 2, 2012 from 3:00 until 5:00 P.M., with a Post Everlasting service at 4:45 P.M., in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday December 3, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church, 954 N. Maple Ave., Fairborn. Interment with military honors will follow in the Fairfield Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at
