XENIA William N. "Colonel Bill" Jenkins, age 83, of Xenia, Ohio, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born December 30, 1929 in Jackson, OH, the son of Herman and Mary Mayme Heading Jenkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Henrietta Sodders Jenkins; a sister: Cordelia Dunn; and brothers: Don, Bob and Wally Jenkins.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Becky and Kevin R. O'Brien of Xenia; grandchildren: Patrick O'Brien, PhD of Denver, CO; and Erin O'Brien of Nashville, TN; and a sister: Peggy (Carl) Young of Sun City, AZ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill graduated from Jackson High School and proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He worked in a variety of capacities with Kentucky Fried Chicken stores locally, including Beavercreek, Yellow Springs and West Carrollton. He was affectionately known as "Colonel Bill" by co-workers and customers. He was an avid sports fan, especially fond of the Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Browns.

Memorial service will be held 7 PM Thursday, May 16th at McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia. A gathering of friends and family will be held 5-7 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately in Silvercreek Cemetery, Jamestown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Xenia YMCA Strong Kids Program, 135 E. Church St., Xenia.
