Donald B. Martin

XENIA Donald B. Martin, 97, of Xenia, passed away Monday, February 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born January 28, 1916, in Superior, Wisconsin, the son of Irwin and Martha Rau Martin. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and was a 32nd Degree Mason, Beaver Valley Masonic Lodge, #753, F. & A. M. He retired as a Lt. Colonel in the United States Air Force, was in the civil service, WPAFB, and was an assistant administrator with Hospitality Home West in Xenia. He is survived by his wife, Marie (Hardin) Martin, whom he married, November 24, 1945, a daughter and son-in-law, Diana L. Martin (Robert Porco), Chagrin Falls, three sons, Douglas L. Martin, Xenia, Philip D. Martin, Austin, TX, and Allan D. Martin, Cincinnati, three grandchildren, Staci L. (Jason) Goodbody, Brent D. Martin, and Taylor Reese-Martin, two great-grandsons, Evan and Ryan Goodbody, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elizabeth Crow and Martha Lou Schumacher, and by a brother, Charles Martin. Don will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Xenia.
