SUGARCREEK TWP. — Floyd Norris Bowersock, 87, of Sugarcreek Twp., formerly of Bellbrook, passed away Monday April 14, 2014. He was born April 29, 1927 in Haydenville, Ohio to Gertrude (Dowler) Bowersock and Daniel Bowersock. Floyd served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during WWII in Adak, Alaska in the 1583rd Engineering Service Company as a technician and warehouse foreman in charge of security and earned the Victory Medal. He was a member of Kettering Assembly of God and attended Bethany Church of Christ. Floyd retired from General Motors Inland in 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carolyn and step-son Robert Wick. Floyd is survived by son Donald F. Bowersock (Linda Martin) of Spring Valley, daughter-in-law Ginger Wick Adelstone, four grandchildren Kristie Cox (Justin), Adam Bowersock (Jen), all of Bellbrook, Bobby Wick (Holly) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jesse Copeland (Scott) of Dayton, one great-granddaughter Cordelia Anne Bowersock, brother Clyde Bowersock of Lancaster, and sister Eleanor Syfert of Bremen. The family will receive friends Wednesday April 16 from 5-7 pm at CONNER & KOCH FUNERAL HOME, 92 W. Franklin St., Bellbrook. Funeral services Thursday 11:00 am at the funeral home. Pastor Ralph Vencil of the Bellbrook Community Church will be officiating.
