BELLBROOK In loving memory of our Hero, mentor, friend, father, Fredrick Frank Bors, age 87, a WWII Veteran of the US Navy and a long time resident of Bellbrook, passed away on November 8, 2013. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Peggy Adamson Bors, and son, Tech Sergeant Tony Bors of the USAF. He is survived by his three loving daughters (Vicky Adams, Nancy Koepke, Sherri Simon), his adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his supportive son-in-laws, his wife, Jean Reilly and extended family. At the age of 17, Fred persuaded his father to sign for his enlistment into the Navy. He took part in the Normandy invasion and several actions in the South Pacific, including the Borneo campaign as part of a landing craft support crew. Returning to civilian life, he became a Tool and Die Maker, working for Sheffield and Bendix. Fred also became a firefighter/paramedic. He would later take on the role of Assistant Fire Chief for the Bellbrook Fire Department. As a Veteran, Fred was involved in the VFW Post 9927 and was Captain of the Color Guard. Fred was an avid supporter of the Saint Vincent DePaul Homeless Shelter (stvincentdayton.org). We miss him dearly. We look forward to celebrating his life with you at the visitation on Thursday, November 14th, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Conner & Koch in Bellbrook with services to follow.
