JAMESTOWN — Paul Richardson, 80 years old, of Jamestown, Ohio, passed away April 10, 2014, with his family by his side, following an extended illness. He was born January 8, 1934, the third child to Allan and Avis Richardson, in Estil County, Kentucky. Paul graduated from Jefferson High School, Bowersville, Ohio, in 1951. After graduation he served in the United States Air Force from 1953-1957. He was stationed in Hunsruck, Germany during the Korean War at Hahn Air Force Base. Paul worked at Foreman Pontiac in Springfield, Ohio, for many years before retiring from Greene County in 2006 where he managed the vehicle service garage. Paul was a well known super stock race car driver for many years. Winning several national championships throughout the 60s and 70s with the famous "Hustlin Hemi." After retiring from racing he continued his love of cars by building custom street rods which won many awards and trophies. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Doris "Eileen" Richardson; children Debra Guthrie and Robert Richardson of Jamestown; grandchildren Crystal (Matt) Guisleman; Korinne (Alan) Cherryholmes; Kyle Guthrie, and Taylor Richardson. Two great-grandchildren India Guisleman and George Cherryholmes. He is also survived by brothers, Clyde (Marcelyn) Richardson; Leo Richardson, sisters Ina (Joseph) Bickett; Leona Fletcher; Ruth (Sam) Wellar; and Veda (John) Barton, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Mary Harmon and brothers Leslie and Wayne Richardson. A celebration of Paul's life will be held Friday April 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Jamestown Church of Christ (152 West Washington Street, Jamestown, Ohio). Burial will be at Silvercreek Township II Cemetery, Jamestown, Ohio. Visitation will be Thursday April 17, 2014 from 5-7 at the Jamestown Church of Christ.
