XENIA — Thomas Richard Stiles, 69, of Xenia died on Sunday, December 15, 2013 surrounded by loved ones at Hospice of Dayton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Vernon Stiles, his brother Vernon Stiles, brothers-in-law Kenneth Cope and Raymond McCall, his mother in law, Irma Williamson and the love of his life, Joan "Snook" Stiles. He is survived by his son, Richard Vernon (Stacy) Stiles and his beloved granddaughters Ashley Maree, Norah Rose and Juliana Pearl Stiles. He is also survived by his sisters Roberta Cope and Nancy McCall, a brother in law James "Butch" (Georgeanne) Williamson and several nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved dearly. Tom was born in New Burlington, Ohio on September 19, 1944 and graduated from Xenia High School in 1962. He was a proud member of the United States Air Force, serving two tours in Vietnam and was stationed at Royal Air Force Base at Mildenhall, UK and was a Purple Heart recipient. He married his love, Joan "Snook" Williamson in 1970 and worked at SuperValu Warehouse in Xenia until he retired in 2003. Tom was a polite and loving man and was kind to all who knew him. He will be sadly missed. The family wishes to thank the Hospice of Dayton staff for their amazing care during Tom's final days. A memorial service will be held 12:00PM Friday, December 20, 2013 at McColaugh Funeral Home Inc. 826 N. Detroit St. Xenia, Ohio 45385, with Rev. Shawn Morris officiating. Graveside service will be held following the service Friday at 2:00PM at New Burlington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Thomas's name may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
