XENIA Daniel Jerome "Jerry" DeWine, 81, of Xenia, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born September 18, 1931, in Cedarville, Ohio, the son of Edward L. and Anna Pauline Setz DeWine, Sr. He was a member of St. Brigid Church and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post, #2402, Xenia Elks Lodge, #668, and Eagles Lodge, #1689. He retired as Vice President with Morris Bean & Co. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie Rae (Jay) Greenup, Tullahoma, TN, a granddaughter, Jill (Drew) Fussnecker, a great-grandson, Nathan Fussnecker, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Theresa (Donald) Hummel, Lexington, NC and Elizabeth Ann Dornhuber, Las Vegas, NV, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Edward L. DeWine, Jr. (friend, Kaye Carlisle), Xenia, and James Michael (Susan) DeWine, Hanover, IN, by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and by many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Evelyn R. "Skippy" (Speckman) DeWine, on January 6, 2008, a sister-in-law, Elnora DeWine, a brother-in-law, Henry Dornhuber, and by a granddaughter, Jaimie Deigh Harner. Jerry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am, Thursday, April 25, 2013, at St. Brigid Church, 312 Fairground Rd., Xenia, with Rev. John Krumm officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Yellow Springs.
