XENIA Herschel Ray Buckner age 84, of Sebring, Florida, and formerly a longtime resident of Xenia, passed away October 14, 2013 in Florida. The son of Alec and Bertie (Norrod) Buckner, he was born March 18, 1929 in Monterey, TN.

Mr. Buckner married his wife, Dorothy McKee on December 27, 1949. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict era in the US Air Force. He retired from Elano Corp. Before retiring to Florida, he was an active member of the Dayton Ave. Baptist Church, serving as deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Morrison and Donald Buckner. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy McKee Buckner; daughters: Ellen Tyrer of FL and Karen (Steven) Hurley of Xenia; son: Stephen Buckner of Dayton; sisters: Mary Ann Walters and Nita Kling and Faye Fox; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.

Graveside services will be held 11 AM Monday, October 21st at the Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the .
