XENIA Jana Tyra Ames was born March 9, 1965 in Xenia, Ohio and passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013. She was preceded in death by her loving parents Carlotta and John Ames, Sr. Jana is survived and will be remembered fondly by her brothers Johnny Jr., Jay and Jaret Ames, and lovingly by her close friends Anne Manley, Sheila Gerth, Mark Stewart, Keith Miller and her nephews and nieces Ethan (Echi) Manley, George, Sally, and Ada Gerth. Jana earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication from Wright State University in 1992. She graduated from Carroll High School of Dayton, Ohio in 1983. Jana lived in Tucker, Georgia with her brother Jaret, and worked as a dispatcher for Aviation Atlanta, Inc. and as an Administrative Assistant with Dekalb County Land Development during her 8 years in Georgia. Jana loved music, poetry, dogs, and chocolate. She was unselfish in her devotion to her family and friends. Those who knew her well cherished her inner strength, honesty, caregiving qualities, and her unwavering support of others. A memorial service will be held at Middle Run Baptist Church on 8 February at 2pm, 1000 East Church Street, Xenia, OH 45385.
