XENIA — Joan B. Hoog, age 86 of Xenia, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Trinity Care Center in Beavercreek. She was born June 3, 1931 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Glenn O. and Mary L. (Vearn) Wilson. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Paul E. Wilson and David Lee Wilson; and a son-in-law: John G. Thorn. She is survived by her daughters: Sandra Thorn; Barbara (Gary) Hawk and son: Christopher Hoog, all of Xenia; grandchildren: Christina (Carl) Southworth; Amy Joan Hester, Kylie M. (Christopher) Stanley and Erika C. Thorn; 4 great grandchildren: Kayla, Cody, Landon, and Camryn, as well as other family members and friends. She had worked at Hospitality Home for over 20 years, where she had retired as Head of the Housekeeping Dept. She had previously been employed with OVCH, where she also worked in housekeeping and in the Tailor shop. She was a member of St. Brigid Church, enjoyed BINGO, bowling and a good cup of coffee. She especially loved her family and was a very devoted mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Wednesday, May 16th at the McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc. 826 N. Detroit Street, Xenia, OH with Rev. John Krumm officiating. Burial will be in the St. Brigid Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM Wednesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
