XENIA Lucille Barber, 93, of Xenia, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born December 14, 1918, in Spring Valley, Ohio, the daughter of John Edward and Sarah Reed Walton. She was a member of Memorial United Presbyterian Church, and the Ohio and Greene County Retired Teachers Associations. She retired after many years as a school teacher with Xenia City Schools. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John K. (Frances) Barber, Xenia, two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanne (Dr. Michael) Dille, Atlanta, GA, and Susan (William) Gates, South Bend, IN, nine grandchildren, Matthew G. (Julie) Barber, Luke K. (Lesley) Barber, Brice B. (Keri) Dille, Brian B. Dille, Sarah Dille, Joel (Angie) Gates, Michael (Stephanie) Gates, Jeffrey Gates, and Deborah (Jake) Lentscher, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth M. Barber, on July 7, 1984, seven sisters, and one brother. Lucille will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 1pm Friday, November 16, 2012 at Memorial United Presbyterian Church, Xenia, with Rev. Kelley W. Shin and Dr. Edwin Kingsbury officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Thursday, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Burial will be in Spring Valley Cemetery.
