XENIA — Robert Lavern Clowney passed away on June 7, 2018 at his home in Denver, Colorado. He was born Sept. 12, 1945 in Xenia, Ohio to Jessie O'Neal Dyamond and Robert Clowney. Robert (Bobby) grew up in the home of his grandmother, Mabel Howard of Xenia, Ohio. He graduated from Xenia High School and attended Central State University two semesters. After which he joined the United States Marine Corps. where he fought in the Vietnam War. He retired after 21 years of service as a sergeant. After retiring, he worked for the Department of Education as an Equal Rights Opportunity Representative. Bobby was an outdoors person who loved camping and traveling in his RV. Memorial services will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 at 12 p.m. at First United Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 626 N. Columbus Ave., Xenia, Ohio; Bishop Edgar Wallace, pastor.
