Robert Lloyd "Bob" Cody Jr.

XENIA Robert Lloyd "Bob" Cody, Jr., 81, of Xenia, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, January 18, 2013, at Greenewood Manor. He was born March 24, 1931, in Gaffney, South Carolina, the son of Robert Lloyd and Nellie Moss Cody. He was a member of Xenia Nazarene Church, and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War (June 1949- Sept. 1952). He was a graduate of Hickory Grove High School, Hickory Grove, SC, and retired from National Cash Register and the Hobart Corporation in Dayton. He is survived by his wife, Anolie (Wardlow) Cody, whom he married February 12, 1955, in New Castle, Indiana, five children, Lisa (Charles) Garlough, Xenia, Charles Cody, Lebanon, Douglas (Karen) Cody, Fairborn, Thomas (Julia) Cody, Xenia, and Vickie (Charles) Carraher, Xenia, ten grandchildren, Donald Moore, Carly Moore, Madeline Garlough, Dustin Cody, Matthew Cody, Tyler Carraher, Rebecca Carraher, William Cody, Joshua Johnson and Gregory Brickey, four great-grandchildren, Haley Scherrer, Izabella Matthews, Makenzie Johnson, and Bradon Johnson, a sister, Gaynelle Donald, Spartenburg, SC, two brothers, Leonard Cody, York SC, and Ted Cody, Gaffney, SC, a sister-in-law, Lillian Cody, York SC, by numerous nieces and nephews, many close friends, and by their special extended family, the Woodards. He was preceded in death by his parents, by two brothers, Charles Cody and Odell Cody, by a sister-in-law, Shirley Cody, and by a brother-in-law, Walter Donald. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would especially like to thank all the staff of Hospice of Dayton and Greenewood Manor for their care during this difficult time. Services will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Xenia Nazarene Church, 1204 W. Second St., Xenia, with Rev. Harold Horton officiating. Visitation will be held from 10am Wednesday, until service time at the church. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia.
