JAMESTOWN Ruth Atkinson, 91, of Jamestown, went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday morning, December 14, 2012, at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was born March 28, 1921, in Rarden, Ohio, the daughter of Robert W. and Ada Sparks Boyd. She was a member of North Side Christian Church, and formerly worked at Sol's Clothing Store in Xenia. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra (Charles "Bing") Crosby, Canal Winchester, a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy (Mary) Atkinson, Cuyahoga Falls, a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Atkinson, Kettering, five grandchildren, Donald (Jackie) Crosby, Fairborn, Robert (Elisabeth) Crosby, Beavercreek, Timothy (Vivian) Atkinson, Barberton, Nathan (Michelle) Atkinson and Derek (Debby) Atkinson, of Xenia, seven great-grandchildren, Tyra, Shelby, Brandi, Charise, Tyler, Dayne, and Lukas, two great-great-grandchildren, Ashlynn and Riley, a sister and brother-in-law, Mary (Herbert) Williams, Waverly, three sisters-in-law, Marilyn Atkinson and Dorothy Shaw, of Xenia, and Vivian "Mickey" (Fred) DeVoe, Sabina, several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends, including her North Side Christian Family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert E. Atkinson, on July 28, 2004, whom she married, September 4, 1943, a son, Gerald Atkinson, in 2007, by six sisters and by six brothers. Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 10am, Tuesday, December 18, 2012, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Gary Robinson officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Monday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valley View Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be made to the family at
