XENIA Sheriff's Deputy Ryan D. Curtis, a dedicated and loving man, a benevolent and faithful patriot, passed away Tuesday July 9, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was 36. Ryan was born September 1, 1976 in Xenia, Ohio to Carol Linda (Armentrout) and David Franklin Curtis. He was a resident of Jamestown and retired in 2007 after 10 years of service to the Greene County Sheriffs Dept. Ryan was a member of Jamestown Church of Christ, Vice President of Greene County FOP #37 Benevolent Fund, a licensed auctioneer for the State of Ohio, volunteer for several charitable events and earned his Ohio Peace Officer certification. He was preceded in death by his sister Melissa Hollon. Ryan is survived by his wife of 13 years, Helena (Clark), three daughters Madison, Lillian and Samantha, parents David and Carol of Jamestown, brother Robert Dehaven (Angela) of Cedarville, numerous nieces and nephews, special friend Shawn Prall and all of his brothers and sisters at the Greene County FOP Lodge #37. The family will receive friends Thursday July 11 from 4-8 pm at Jamestown Church of Christ. A celebration of Ryan's life will be held Friday at 10:30 am at the church. Steve Rich and Chuck Graf will officiate. Burial in Grape Grave Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to Ryan Curtis Memorial Fund, 92 W.
