XENIA Thomas Carpenter, age 88, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at his residence. He was born February 12, 1924 in Barberton, OH, one of seven children born to Lillian and Albert Carpenter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Mildred Irene, just 31 days ago on December 16, 2012; brothers: Albert, Richard, Bob and Bill Carpenter; and sister: Barbara Powell. He is survived by his daughter: Linda (Mark) Luttrell of Xenia; son: Rick Carpenter of California; 3 grandsons: Joshua Matthews of Dayton; Shane (Brandi) Luttrell of Bellevue, KY and Andrew Luttrell of Xenia; 2 great-granddaughters: Haley and Isabella; and a sister: Betty Garver of East Liverpool, OH as well as numerous other relatives and friends. He was retired from DESC after more than 30 years of service and had also worked as an Inspector with Greene Metropolitan Housing Authority. He graduated from Ashland College and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
