XENIA — Helen Jane Phillips, age 77, of Xenia passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at her residence. She was born March 9, 1936 in Cumberland, Kentucky, the daughter of Grace Blanche (Huff) and Cossie Clifford Wampler . She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hobart Phillips, a sister: Marie Grace Blake and brother: Cossie Basil Wampler. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Kathryn Grace and William Greathouse and son and daughter-in-law: Carl G. and Debbie Phillips, all of Xenia; 4 grandsons: James, David, Michael and Andrew; and a sister: Doris A. Hall of Morristown, TN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She moved to Ohio in 1970. Helen had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for over 50 years at several hospitals and nursing homes, including Greene Memorial Hospital, Trinity Community and the Widows Home of Dayton. She enjoyed ballroom dancing. Helen was a great mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, February 13th at McColaugh Funeral Home, Inc., 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Pastor Ron Stauch officiating. Interment to follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia.
