CEDARVILLE — Marjorie Marie Bartlett, age 93, of Cedarville, Ohio passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at Hospitality Home East in Xenia. She was born November 4, 1920 in Roodhouse, Illinois, the daughter of William Irving Spencer and Grace Alma (Cryder) Spencer. She married Walter David "Jake" Bartlett on February 28, 1941, and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2010. She is survived by both of her children: Jean Marie (John) LeBlanc of Springfield, OH and David Cryder (Linda) Bartlett of Cedarville, OH; 4 grandchildren: Jay (Shannon) LeBlanc of Noblesville, IN; J. Kirk (Krystee) LeBlanc of Brownsburg, IN; Bradley David Bartlett of Columbus, OH; and Sarah (Ben) Borich of Bexley, OH; and 8 great grandchildren: McKenna, Madison and Mallory LeBlanc; Keilee, Keenan and Karsten LeBlanc, Bennett Paige and Blake Anna Borich; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Floyd, Kenneth, Ralph, Glenn, Robert and Roberta Spencer; Mildred Woods, Pauline Gibbins, and Peg McCoy. She had been an active member of the Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton, IL for 50 years, where she sang in the choir, served as Sunday School Teacher, Pioneer Girl Leader, Head of the Hospitality Committee and anywhere else she was needed. After moving to Cedarville, she joined Grace Baptist Church, and became a member of the Young at Heart. She was devoted to her family and she was a dedicated "prayer warrior" for her family and friends. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, June 27th at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 102 W. Clay St., Roodhouse, IL 62082, with Rev. William E. Hendricks officiating. She will be interred next to her husband at Martins Prairie Cemetery, east of Roodhouse. Visitation will be held Friday from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
