XENIA — Daniel Lee Tackett, age 62, of Xenia, passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, playing the game he loved, golf at Locust Hills Golf Course. He was born November 26, 1951 in Xenia, the son of Andrew "AJ" and Donna (Shaw) Tackett. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dan proudly served his country in the US Army being stationed in Vietnam. He was currently employed at R & L Carriers in safety maintenance. Besides golf, Dan enjoyed woodworking, was a former bowler and was known to family as friends as "Mr. Fix It" for his ability to repair anything. He is survived by his loving wife and companion, Linda (Webb) Tackett, whom he married September 21, 1991, children: Shannon (Rick) Ciarletta, of Xenia, Nichol (Gary) Garrison, of Harveysburg, Jason (Kristina) Slyger, of Xenia and Ryan (P.J.) Slyger, of Lebanon, 7 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters, brothers: Mark (Pam) Tackett, Bryan "Randy" Tackett, sister: Tonya Tackett all of Xenia and Julie (Bradley) Bauman, of Waynesville. A Celebration of Dan's Life will held 7 PM Friday, August 8th at the Xenia Grace Chapel, 100 Grace Dr. Xenia, with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating.
