Raymond C. Haley

FAIRBORN USAF LtCol. (Ret.) Raymond C. Haley, age 92 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday November 24, 2012 in the Soin Medical Center. He was born June 28, 1920 in Morgan Co., Colorado, the son of the late Curtis T. and Sylvia V. (Smith) Haley. Raymond served his country in the Army Air Corps and the U.S. Air Force during World War II and Korea as a pilot, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after 26 years of combined service. He was a member of Hillside Chapel; as well as a lifetime member of the Air Force Association, the Hump Pilots Association, Retired Officers Association, and the Army Air Corps Enlisted Pilots Association. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle S. Haley; a daughter, Janet Crawford; a brother, Jack Haley; and a sister, Jeune Buckingham. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Marcie Weiher-Haley; two daughters, Charlotte Knauke, Christy McPherson; a son, Kenneth Haley; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a great great-granddaughter; as well as numerous other extended family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 28, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, 422 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday November 29, 2012 at 10:30 A.M., Dr. Chuck Moore officiating.
