XENIA Retired Master Sergeant Byron L. Workman, 52, born on June 10, 1961 to Sarah and Richard Workman of Ohio, passed away August 5, 2013 at Community East Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana. Employed with Rolls-Royce as an Industrial Security Specialist, he has resided in Indianapolis for the last five years.
Byron joined the United States Air Force in 1980. He honorably served his country and had a distinguished career with numerous commendations until he retired in 2006. In 1983, he married Donna, his wife of 30 years, and celebrated the births of his two sons, Joshua in 1986 and Brenton in 1988. Throughout the years, he has been a member of the Community of Christ Church in Beavercreek, Ohio and a scout leader in the local Boy Scout community both here in Indianapolis and in Valdosta, Georgia. He was a friend, a mentor, and a teacher to many of those around him.
Byron is survived by his wife, Donna (Truxal), two sons, Joshua and Brenton, and one granddaughter, Cecilia; his mother and father, Sarah and Richard Workman; six sisters, Tina Workman, August (Jason) Robinette, Rhonda Brown, Dianna (Richard) Strickland, Angela Vertrees, Jeanette (Sean) Callahan; grandfather, Clarence Cook; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and David Truxal; two sister-in-laws, Debra (Brad) Pierce and Stacy (David) Martin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Byron was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Edna Workman and Koneta Cook; and four uncles, Robert Workman, James Workman, Wayne Workman, and Michael Cook.
A Memorial Service will be held on August 24, 2013 at Fairview Primitive Baptist Church, 2353 Ferry Road, Bellbrook, Ohio. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with the memorial service starting at 11:00 a.m. Byron will be buried at Olive Branch Cemetery, Sinking Spring Road, Hillsboro, Ohio. His nephew, Elder Joseph Robinette, will be officiating the service.

It was an honor to have called you son and I will always remember the times we were able to go fishing. You were a good man, husband, father and dear friend. I don't ever recall you ever calling me by my first name it was always "Pop or Dad" and we always ended a phone call with a love you. R.I.P son you will forever remain in my heart.
