LeRoy Stinson Obituary

Boonville- In early morning of September 8, 2013, Mr. LeRoy Stinson of Boonville entered into his Heavenly Home to be with Jesus and his beloved wife (our mother) and to hold his infant baby girl again. September 10 he will celebrate his greatest birthday party ever with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, loved ones, and friends, that have gone on before him. Mr. Stinson was born on September 10, 1929 to the late Ezra Querateous Stinson and Florence Davis Stinson. Mr. Stinson was a native of Yadkin County and a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army from 1951-1953. He was known for his very friendly outgoing personality and the love for his family and friends. He enjoyed farming, raising tobacco, and working in his garden. He was an avid lover of antique Fords, trucks, mustangs, and attending car shows. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, 2 great-grandsons, whom he adored very much, and with all of his grandchildren, that he loved dearly. Mr. Stinson was also a member of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clarice Adams Stinson, infant daughter, Sherrie Caroline Stinson, sister and brother-in-law, Alphadine and Grady Wilkins. Surviving are his 2 daughters, Debbie (Dennis) Messick, Kathy Stinson (Tony Hinshaw), all of Boonville; 2 sons, Jeff (Tammy) Stinson, Mickey (Sue) Stinson, all of Boonville; 3 granddaughters, Laken (Derek) Cranfill, Jamie Messick, Sabrina Stinson; 3 grandsons, Tim (Sam) Messick, Mitch (Erin) Stinson, Matt (Melissa) Stinson; 2 great-grandsons, Carson Blake Cranfill, Logan Scott Cranfill; great-granddaughter, McKenzie Stinson; and his special companion, BeeBee.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 12:00 PM Tuesday at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. Phillip Link and Rev. Perry Link. He will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346 and the N.C. National Guard Military Honors Detail. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Woltz Hospice Home 946 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 28670.
