YADKINVILLE — Mr. James David Driver, of Yadkinville, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born Dec. 24, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Thomas C. and Gertrude Dixon Driver. He was a graduate of the Class of 1959, Yadkinville High School, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Driver worked with B/E. Aerospace, and after retirement, continued working with Southern Community Bank and Rebb Industries. He was a faithful member of Harmony Grove Friends Meeting, where he served as an usher, and was on the House & Ground Committee. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jack T. Driver and Richard D. Driver; a sister-in-law, Joyce B. Driver; and a niece, Jackie Driver Edwards. Surviving are his wife, Betty Hoots Driver of the home; three nephews, Jason Driver, Michael Driver, Melvin Hoots; three nieces, Tammy Reavis, Cindy Stewart, Diane Linville; several great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Avery Salmons and Bob Mickles. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. in the Gentry Family Chapel with the Rev. Nelson Spaulding and Pastor Brady Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Grove Friends Church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to either Kate B.
