EAST BERLIN Joseph L. Heiges, Sr., 78, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at his home. He was born October 17, 1934, in Franklin town, the son of the late Sylvester and Anna (Thompson) Heiges. Joseph was a self-employed painter and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Dillsburg American Legion Post #26 and the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Assoc. Joseph is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dorothy M. (Hosler) Heiges; three sons, Joseph L. Jr. and Leon Heiges, both of Goldsboro, Kenneth of Cly; one daughter, Deborah Bowman of York; and a step-son, Randy McCauslin and his wife, Stephanie of East Berlin; and step-grandchildren, Zachary McCauslin of Mechanicsburg, Briana Myers and her husband Ryan of Perry County, and J.T. Keich of Mechanicsburg; and also 12 other grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Cocklin Funeral Home, Inc., 30 N. Chestnut St., Dillsburg. Graveside services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
