Abel, Leon  
Leon E. Abel June 2, 1932 - October 18, 2016 York Leon E. Abel, 84, died at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home on October 18, 2016. He was the husband of the late Erlene M. (Becker) Abel. Born June 2, 1932, in Lower Windsor Township, he was the son of the late John H. and Margaret M. (Kraft) Abel. Leon retired from Standard Register as a machine operator following over 35 years of employment. He was a member of Yorkshire United Methodist Church, a 1951 graduate of Hellam High School and attended Elizabethtown College where he played baseball. Leon was a member and Past Master of Riverside Lodge #503 F. & A.M. where he also served as secretary for 15 years and a member of York Forest #30 Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Leon is survived by a daughter, Wanda Jean Campbell and her husband Travis of Columbia, Md.; two sons, Kerry Abel and his wife Julie of Mount Wolf and Craig Abel and his wife Glenda of York; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joan Tollinger of Lancaster and Carol Young of York; and a sister-in-law, Fayne Abel of York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elton Abel. Masonic and funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family at Etzweiler Funeral Home, Inc., 700 Hellam St., Wrightsville, PA, with burial in Canadochly Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, 118 Pleasant Acres Road, York, PA 17402. James S. Anderson August 1, 1955 - October 3, 2016 Denver, CO James S. "Jim" Anderson, 61, died Monday, October 3, 2016, at his residence. Jim is survived by two brothers, Tommy Anderson, and his wife Kae, and Gary Anderson. Private burial will be in Paddletown Cemetery, Newberrytown. William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.

Aumen, Thomas  
Thomas M. Aumen July 13, 1935 - October 14, 2016 Hanover Thomas M. Aumen, 81, entered into God's eternal care Friday, October 14, 2016, at his home. He is survived by his wife Marlene A. (Groft) Aumen to whom he was married 56 years. Born July 13, 1935 in Hanover, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Treva R. (Witmer) Aumen. Tom was retired from Met-Ed and was a 1953 graduate of Eichelberger High School. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Hanover, a life member of the McSherrystown Home Assoc., and a member of the York County Bowling Assoc. and was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1997. He enjoyed bowling, carving ducks, the beach and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Michael Aumen and his wife, Jillian of McSherrystown, Steven Aumen and his wife, Rhonda of Hanover and Mark Aumen and his wife, Tammy of New Oxford; eight grandchildren, Courtney Descheemacker and her husband, Bryant, Kirstie Smith and her husband, Mark, Chelsea Boyd and her husband, Adam, Thomas and Tanner Aumen and Nicholas, Nathan and Nolan Aumen. He is preceded in death by two brothers; James and Larry Aumen. A Celebration of Life service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 30 W. Chestnut Street, Hanover with the Rev. Dr. Daniel M. Yeiser officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, with the Hanover Allied Veterans Honor Guard providing military honors. Friends and relatives will be received Monday 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Avenue, McSherrystown, and Tuesday 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas and Nicholas Aumen, Bryant Descheemacker, Mark Smith, Adam Boyde and Denise Graham. Contributions in memory of Tom may be made to VNA/ Hospice, 440 Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331or American Cancer Society, 924 N Colonial Ave, York, PA 17403.
