Jones, Patricia M.  
YORK Patricia M. Jones, 78, of Springettsbury Township, died at 10:10 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Marvin P. Jones. Born August 29, 1936, in York, a daughter of the late Nelson A. and Gerelene E. (Keasey) Shermeyer, she had been employed by Danskin, Die-A-Matic and Food Lion. She was also a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church. Mrs. Jones is survived by a daughter, Cindy L. Acworth and her husband, Scott of East Berlin; a granddaughter, Kelly B. Acworth; two sisters, Gloria Adams of Bel Air, Md., and Katrina Pels of Safety Harbor, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 2164 Mount Zion Road, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Brian A. McClinton, officiating. Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at The Semmel Chapel of Workinger Semmel Funeral Homes, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York, and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 2164 Mount Zion Road., York, PA 17406.

Johnson, James G.  
YORK James Garfield Johnson, "Garfield" as he was fondly called by all, passed away on January 15, 2015 in Hanover. Born November 29, 1936 in Avon, Va. to the late Alberta Durette, he was raised by his loving grandparents, the late James R. and Lula Wells Johnson. Garfield was educated in Avon Grammar School and was a graduate of Shipman High School, class of 1954, Lovington, Va. He entered the U.S. Air Force and upon completion joined the work force in York, being employed at many restaurants in the York area. He retired from from Bon-Ton Potato Chips (York Snacks Co.) with over 30 years of service. Garfield loved playing cards, talking to all, and was a caring, kind and faithful person. In addition to his mother and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his aunts, uncles and his two brothers, Edmond Isaiah Johnson and Richard C. Turner. Garfield leaves to share memories two sisters, Alberta "Corinne" Arunes and Linda L. Muldrow (Thomas, Sr.), both of York; and a brother, Charles Edward Turner of Wis.; his caregivers, Rebecca Hunter and family at Jihra Meadows, Hanover; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whose lives he touched with his unselfish life. A service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
