Herbert J. Jacoby York Herbert J. Jacoby, 91, passed away Monday, May 23, 2016, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Betty L. (Baer) Jacoby. Mr. Jacoby was born in North York, September 17, 1924, son of the late William N. and Edith M. (Stough) Jacoby. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was owner and operator of the former Jacoby's Garage. He was a member of the York Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Nancy L. Hinkle of Dover; four grandchildren, Eric Jacoby, Todd Jacoby, Craig Hinkle, and Gina Jacoby; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Klunk of York and Mary Scheckenbach of Roundtown; a brother, Wayne Jacoby of Stoverstown; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven J. Jacoby; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh.) Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Fred Nowell. Final resting place will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, York. There will be a viewing from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the York Church of Christ, 150 S. Jeter Sr., Robert  
Robert G. Jeter, Sr. York Robert G. Jeter, Sr. 82, formerly of St. Marys, Pa., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Mr. Jeter was born in Harvey, Ill. and was the son of the late Llewellen Garthright and Gladys (Sheley) Jeter of St. Marys, Pa. He was a retired electrician with IBEW Local 5 of Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Elks BPOE #2257, Eulalia Lodge# 342 F&AM and the Scottish Rite of Coudersport, Pa. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Jeter is survived by his wife, Carolyn Novosat Jeter; his daughters, Kim (Michael Anderson) Jeter Anderson of York, Robin (Ronald) Snelick of Lynchburg, Va., Lori (Mark Haas) Jeter Haas of New Stanton, Pa. and Stacey (Keith) Marsteller of Stewartstown; his son, Robert G. (Dawn) Jeter, Jr. of Glen Rock; 13 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; his twin sisters, Connie (Frank) Ginther and Bonnie Guilyard, both of St. Marys; and his companion of 13 years, Charlotte Magill of Harrisburg. He was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick D. Jeter of Virginia Beach, Va.; and sister, Trudy Ann Jeter of St. Marys. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., 6011 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with Full Military Honors. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home, prior to the service.
