Kahley, Bernard E.  
DOVER Bernard E. (Sonny) Kahley, husband of June E. (Albright) Kahley of Dover, (formerly of West Manchester Township), passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, August 25, 2015. He was born in York on August 4, 1929, the son of Joseph A. Kahley, Sr. and Elsie E. (Slenker) Kahley. Mr. Kahley was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by a sister, Norma Jean Eames of Bountiful, Utah. He has three sons, Michael and wife Marietta of Dover, Steven and wife Laurie of Dover, and Jerry and wife Linda of Shiloh. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Mr. Kahley's employment included 16 years with the York Bus Company, 16 years with Wolf Supply, 14 years with John H. Myers, and many years as Santa's Assistant. He was a U.S. Army veteran with a WWII Victory Medal and American Defense Medal. During his service he was assigned with the 7031st Military Police at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. As a member of St. Paul's (Wolf's) E.C.C. Church of West Manchester Township, he was a Past Church Council President and a former Assistant Sunday School Superintendent. He was active with the Boy Scouts as Scoutmaster of Troops 121 and Troop 149 and was a Scout Leader for a Philmont Expedition in 1969. Mr. Kahley was a firefighter actively involved with local fire departments to include Lincolnway Fire Company (Life Member and past President and Trustee), Shiloh Fire Company (past Vice-President), and Reliance Fire Company (Life Member and past part-time engine driver). He spent nine years as the Civil Defense Director for West Manchester Township, and was a West York Ambulance Driver and Patient Assistant for a number of years. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York, PA 17404. The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. with his pastor, the Rev. Philip Hakanson officiating. A private immediate family-only burial ceremony will follow at the St. Paul's Wolf's cemetery. Full miltary rites will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Kingan, Earl R.  
YORK Earl Robert Kingan, 89, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2015 in York Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Marilyn June (Brady) Kingan. Born in Fayette County, he is the son of Robert Earl and Lucy (Heinz) Kingan. Following his service in the Air Force during World War II, Earl graduated with honors with a degree in Accounting from West Virginia University. He was a Certified Public Accountant who worked for B & O Railroad/CSX Transportation for 28 years and retired as a Sr. Litigation Auditor. He was a devoted Christian who actively served at Westlake Free Methodist Church, Westlake, Ohio for 20 years and at Valley View Baptist Church, Lutherville, Md. He was a man of character who loved God, his family and his church. In addition to his wife of 58 years, he was a loving father to Cindy Cantley and Jane and husband, Tony Nini; grandfather to two grandchildren, Laura and Jim Cantley; and great-grandfather to Maggie Cantley. He was preceded in death by a sister, June Kollar and her husband Emil Kollar. A viewing will be held at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service 1111 E. Market St., York, on Saturday, August 29, 2015 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a brief memorial service at 1 p.m. led by Pastor Steve Warner of Grace Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Mt.
