Deardorff, Darla L.  
YORK Darla Lee (Sullivan) Deardorff, having served her purpose on Earth, went to be with her Lord in Eternal Security on Monday, December 22, 2014. She was married for 52 years to Richard E. Deardorff who died in 2004. Darla was born on February 9, 1936, in York, to the late Margaretta (Long) McCauslin and the late Archie K. Sullivan. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road in York, with a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York. Darla attended West York High School. She was a life long member of West Poplar Street Church of God where she served on the church council for many years. She was the first woman to serve as an Elder and later was made a Life Elder. She served as Financial Secretary for the church. She taught Sunday school for many years, first the Children's Department, then the Adult "Pyramid" class for over 35 years. She was a member of the Women's WCTU and the Missionary Society before they merged. Darla became a Covenant Participant at Emmanuel U.C.C. in 2013. Darla retired in 1998 from Honeywell in York after 19 years of service. Darla leaves five children, Ricki Deardorff Smith, Betsy Deardorff Anderson, Karen Deardorff Westover, Jon C. Deardorff, and Susan Deardorff Reimold. She leaves eight grandchildren, Steven C. Kress, Jenny Kress Rinker, Jaimee Keech Holt, Kevin Westover, Rebekah Westover, Alysssa Deardorff, Brandon Deardorff, and Kelly Reimold. Also left are 10 great-grandchilren, Larissa Rinker, Allyson Rinker, Julia Rinker, Tyler Kress, Lindsay Kress, Haley Westover, Kaleb Westover, Donovan Frantz, Alaina Holt, Madison Holt, Abigail Holt, and Noah Frysinger; a sister, Karen E. Warner and her husband, Karl, Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Horn and her husband, David. Preceding her in death were a grandson, Timothy Buckingham; a great-grandson, Blaze Holt; and two brothers, Archie Sullivan, Jr. and Charles E. Sullivan. Send Condolences at BestLifeTributes.com

Diehl, John S.  
GEORGIA John S. Diehl, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2014, at Gentiva Center at Franciscan Woods, Columbus, Georgia. John was born on May 26, 1927, in Loganville, a son of the late Earl F. and Romaine Snyder Diehl. He was the stepson of the late Elsie Stabley Diehl. John served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and during the Korean War. His passion for horses led him into the equine industry as a successful trainer of show horses and as a successful equestrian. John is survived by his sister, Earline Shellenberger and her husband, Ralph, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne, Frank, and Robert Diehl and a sister, June Pritt. A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 80 S. Main St., Loganville, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Loganville, at the convenience of the family. Please no flowers. Dockey, Helen L.  
YORK Helen Louise Dockey, 91, of Manchester Township, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at York Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late LaMar E. "Mike" Dockey. Born October 14, 1923, in York, a daughter of the late Bert D. and Mary E. (Roelke) Wagner, she was a 19M41 graduate of William Penn High School and was retired from the Industrial Education Department of the York YMCA after 25 years of employment. She was a member of Hayshire United Church of Christ, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and BPO Elks Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Dockey is survived by a son, James M. Dockey and his wife, Judy of Bethany Beach, Del.; a daughter, Cathie D. Stutler and her husband, James of Crofton, Md.; five grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Nyce of Largo, Fla.; and a brother, Brigadier General Donald B. Wagner (Ret.) of Sugarland, Texas. A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Hayshire United Church of Christ, 100 Haybrook Drive, York, with her minister, Pastor Eva O'Diam, officiating. Donley Jr., Ralph E.  
LEHIGH ACRES, FL Ralph E. Donley, Jr., 82, formerly of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014. He was the husband of Linda L. Thome Donley, to whom he was married for 50 years. He was born in Columbia, son of the late Ralph E., Sr., and Helen Garrett Donley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons; and four daughters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Graveside Service and Burial will be held at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens on Friday, December 26, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. with Full Military Honors. Visitation will be held at the Workman Funeral Homes, Inc., 31 S. Eighth St., Columbia, from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon. Please omit flowers.
