Lois J. Van Buskirk York Lois J. Van Buskirk, 86, passed away at York Hospital Sunday, May 22, 2016. She was born April 21, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Alena G. (Hendershot) Van Buskirk and Thomas J. Van Buskirk. She is survived by a sister, Shirley A. Van Buskirk of York and several cousins. Lois was a graduate of Wyoming Seminary School of Business, Kingston, Pa. She worked as a Corporate Secretary for B. M. Root Co., York, and was later employed by Fox Pools. Lois was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of York. A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 3 p.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. A viewing will be held Thursday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas, Pa. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church of York, 340 E. Market St., York, PA 17403; or the charity of your choice. Van Tiggelen, Suzanne  
Suzanne Van Tiggelen York Suzanne Van Tiggelen, 87, died on May 21, 2016, at Manor Care – North York. Born in Poland on November 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Pincus and Pauline (Rosenberg) Krakower. She was the wife of the late Jack A. Van Tiggelen. Suzanne was a seamstress. As a young girl in the 1930s, she and her family moved from Poland to Paris. While in Paris in the 1940s, she, her mother and brother were hidden on farms in Normandy after her father was sent to Auschwitz after being taken from their apartment in Paris. She moved to Reading in 1947 where she met her husband and the two were married in 1956. She is survived by a daughter Cynde Van Tiggelen-Fourhman of New Orleans, La.; a son, Guy J. Van Tiggelen of Ellicott City, Md.; a brother, Jacques Krakower of Paris; three grandchildren, Timothy, Ashley and Caitlin; five great-grandchildren, Colton, Avery, Cassidee, Jordyn and Camaya. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York. A visitation will be held Thursday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
