Ladner, Shane  
Shane J. Ladner Glen Rock Shane J. Ladner, 33, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family after his courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Veronica P. (Brown) Ladner, with whom he shared the past 4 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 4 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Glen Rock American Legion Post 403, 4035 Manchester St., Glen Rock, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m. and from the conclusion of the service until 6 p.m. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born July 15, 1983 in New Orleans, La., he was the son of Angele N. (Haydel) McCullough (Kim), Samuel J. DeRita and Clarence J. Ladner III. He was employed at Broadmead in Cockeysville, Md. for 10 years as Director of IT. Shane loved his family and he especially enjoyed spending time with his four children. In addition to his wife and parents, Shane is also survived by four children, Maddyson B., Laura E., Noah D. and Dylan J.; two sisters, Allison N. Torres (Will), Victoria L. Balentine (Kris); five brothers, Matthew R. McCullough (Yvonne), Mark R. McCullough (Jenna), Anthony J. DeRita, Nicholas J. DeRita (Rebecca) and Stephen M. DeRita; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph E. DeRita and grandmother, Gail A. Bernhard. Christopher C. Langston Delta Christopher Charles Langston, 12, cherished grandson of Charles J. and Barbara M. Oconnor, passed away on August 22, 2016, in the Hershey Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born February 4, 2004 in Rossville, Md., son of Christopher M. and Denise D. Langston. Lauer, Gary  
Gary E. Lauer January 5, 1956 - August 22, 2016 York Township Gary E. Lauer, 60, died at 12:47 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016, at York Hospital. Born January 5, 1956, in York, a son of the late Reuben and Norma Jean (Garrett) Lauer, he had been a Professional Firefighter for Spring Garden Township. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Lauer is survived by two sons, Garrett D. Lauer, and his wife Kacey, of York, and Jacob C. Lauer of State College; a grandson, Nathan Lauer; and a brother, Michael J. Busser. Maurer, Irene Neal  
Irene Neal Maurer Columbia Irene Neal Maurer, 64, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 17, 2016. She was born August 21, 1951 in Cleveland, OH to the late Edward Sr. and Mary Jane Hammond Neal and was resident of this area for most of her life. During her time working for PP&L, she was an advocate for women's rights and equal pay within the company. To her family she was a caretaker and giving provider. She loved her grandchildren and took part in raising them and participating in their various activities. She was known for her cooking and enjoyed crocheting and knitting in her spare time along with being a champion at playing Big Wiz. A member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. of Columbia, she accepted Jesus and was baptized in 2010. Survivors include her children, Nicole Neal and Derrick Neal; her grandchildren, Brianna Neal, Shanel Neal, Neveah Neal, Daneishya Neal, and Alaina Neal; her brothers and sisters, Edward, Jr., husband of Christie Neal, Joyce Rice (Charles Simms), Mary Ann, wife of the late Michael Bessick, Carolyn, wife of Larry Ellis, Sandra, wife of Ronald Murray, and Susan Neal. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Culbreth in 2004. Funeral Services for Irene will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Columbia United Methodist Church, 510 Walnut St, Columbia. Pastor Patricia S. McAllister will officiate. She will lie in state and the family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Habecker Mennonite Cemetery in Lancaster. Flower donations will be accepted. McCarthy, Doris Gilbert  
Doris Gilbert McCarthy York Doris Gilbert McCarthy, formerly of Wrightsville, died on August 17, 2016 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Paul Gilbert and the late Robert W. McCarthy. Born September 21, 1926 in Wrightsville, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Ellwein) Petrillo and the late Lloyd Hammer. Doris was a member of Wrightsville Hope United Methodist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Gwen Gilbert-Foore and her husband, Richard of Richmond, IN; a son, Bruce Gilbert of Corydon, IN; a daughter, Deborah Gilbert of York; a grandson, Jordan Foore; a granddaughter, Hillary Heaston and her husband, Mark; and four great-grandchildren, Peyton, Carter, Taylor and Leland Heaston, all of Richmond, IN. Doris was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Snyder. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at Wrightsville Hope United Methodist, 404 Hellam Street, Wrightsville, with the Rev. James Wooster, officiating. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. McCarty, Terry Lee "Bear"  
Terry "Bear" Lee McCarty East Prospect Terry "Bear" Lee McCarty, 41, passed on August 15, 2016 at his home. Born on July 20, 1975 in York, he was the son of Linda (Wire) Newson, of Carlisle and Douglas McCarty (Debbie) of Manchester. Terry was a millwright for Kinsley. He loved loud music, Pabst Blue Ribbon, cars and playing music on his guitar. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Bear leaves to cherish his memory, his parents; a daughter, Entasazia McCarty of Red Lion; a granddaughter, Jemma Burcham McCarty; a sister, Hope Smith of Stewartstown; a brother, Shaine McCarty of York, and a host of family and friends. Deborah S. Miller September 7, 1952 - August 23, 2016 Dover Township Deborah S. Miller, 63, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at her residence. Born September 7, 1952, in York, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. Quickel Jr. and Dorothy S. (McCartney) Quickel. Miss Miller retired from Fox Pool Corporation where she worked in the accounts receivable department. She also attended Lighthouse Baptist Church. Miss Miller is survived by a son, Frank D. Miller, Jr., of Dover; a daughter, Nicole S. Miller, of Dover; a granddaughter, Kenice C. Miller; a brother, Robert C. Quickel III; and two nieces, Rebekah N. and Sarah E. Quickel. Margaret J. Miller September 18, 1923 - August 21, 2016 DOVER Margaret J. (Cleary) Miller, 92, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Providence Place in Dover. She was the wife of the late Welton G. Miller. Mrs. Miller was born in York on September 18, 1923, daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Gentzler) Cleary. Margaret was employed by the former J.M. Fields in the camera department. She loved to cook and travel. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth R. Koons and his wife, Linda of Shiloh, Dale A. Koons and his wife, Joann of York and John D. Koons and his wife, Karen of York, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a half brother, Raymond E.P. Cleary of Hanover. She was preceded in death by a sister, Regina A. Krout. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York (Shiloh). Moyer, Michael  
Michael H. Moyer Selinsgrove Michael H. Moyer, 51, died peacefully while surrounded by family on Saturday,August 20, 2016 of complications resulting from anaphylaxis. He was born on September 25, 1964 to Henry and Dolores Moyer of Selinsgrove, who survive him. Mike graduated from West Snyder High School in 1982 having participated in many activities including wrestling, soccer, baseball and band. Following high school, he earned a Bachelor's Degree from Shippensburg University in 1987. In 1991, he married Pamela Denlinger. Mike and Pam celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on April 13, 2016. He worked for Wood-Mode for 29 years, most recently serving in the role of Area Leader. He supplemented his career with membership in Masonic Lodge 619 in Middleburg and as a 32nd degree mason in the Harrisburg consistory. He also was a member of the County Line Hunting Club in Beaver Springs where he served as President and Past President. Mike's life was enriched by many things he enjoyed. Most of all, he enjoyed his dogs, Bella and Bailey. He was happiest when he was doing anything involving water—scuba diving, his swimming pool, and trips to the ocean in Cancun, Mexico. Additionally, he was an avid gardener, and cook, serving up delicious meals from his smoker, grill and kitchen. In addition to his wife and parents, Mike is survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Denlinger of York, one sister, Wendi and Frank Gossler of Beaver Springs; and two brothers, Duane and Kristin of Mount Wolf, and Timm and Kristen of Watsontown. He also is survived by two brothers-in-law, Mark Denlinger and Kerry Flood of Austin, TX and Todd and Denise Denlinger of State College; and one sister-in-law, Bethany and Matt Eckley of State College. Mike had seven nephews and nieces, Justin Glenny and Dianna Koonsman, Jared and Jennifer Glenny, Coryn Moyer, Chris Moyer, Merrick Denlinger, Haley Eckley, and Hannah Eckley. He also had three great-nieces and two great-nephews, Jadyn, Jared, Jozi, Jordin, and Joel. Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, with a Masonic service with the Middleburg F&AM Lodge 619 at 7:45 p.m. at V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, and from 11 a.m. to noon, Friday, at God's Missionary Church, 1693 Creek Road, Middleburg. followed by a funeral at noon with the Rev. James Plank officiating.
