Adam W. Ruth

YORK Adam W. "Billy" Ruth, age 96, died at 7:04 a.m. Monday, February 11, 2013, at The Haven at Springwood. Born September 10, 1916 in Conewago Township, a son of the late Charles F. and Katie (Allison) Ruth, he retired from Penn Dot in 1981 after 15 years of employment. He had been a member of Strinestown Fire Co., Union Fire Company No. 1 in Manchester, Alert Fire Co. in Emigsville, Newberry Ambulance Club, Manchester Ambulance Club and the Wago Club. Mr. Ruth is survived by a family friend, Vestal "Mickey" Kottcamp of Manchester; a nephew, Vincent Ruth of Manchester; and a niece, Ruth Buchar of Maine. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, with Rev. David Slautterback, officiating. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Quickel Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2449 South Queen St., York, PA 17402.
