Alma J. Shaffer

DALLASTOWN Alma June (Peters) Shaffer, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Pleasant Acres. She was the wife of the late Philip E. Shaffer who passed away on April 9, 2009. They had been married for 57 years. Born April 22, 1930, in Dallastown, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Janet (Zarfoss) Peters. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Shaffer will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Austin H. Eberly Funeral Home, Inc., 104 W. Main St., Dallastown, with Rev. Dr. Chris Rodkey officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be in Dallastown Union. Mrs. Shaffer is survived by a son: Raymond P. Shaffer and his wife Vicki of Felton; a granddaughter, Chrissi O'Donnell and her husband, Sean of Baltimore, Md; great grandchildren, Ava and Evan O'Donnell of Baltimore, Md.; and many loving aunts and uncles. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sons, Steven M. Shaffer and Jeffrey L. Shaffer. Mrs. Shaffer was a member of St. Paul's UCC in Dallastown. Alma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she enjoyed going to the mountains with her family.
