Alton Alloway

YORK Alton Alloway, 82, passed away at 3:17 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Annabelle (Perry) Alloway. Alton was born February 8, 1930, in Fawn Grove, and was the son of the late Daniel and Anna (Markle) Alloway. He was a truck driver for over 30 years with Consolidated Freightways before retiring in 1986. He was a life member of the Viking Club; life member of the Hawks Club; member of Seven Mountain Blue Grass Association of Harrisburg; and the Teamsters Local 430 Retirees. In addition to his wife, Annabelle, Alton is survived by his two sons, Michael Alloway and Gary Alloway, both of York; his three daughters, Jean Gembe of York, Judy Murray of Dover, and Teresa Eberharter of Cheyenne, Wyo.; five grandchildren, including his special friend and granddaughter, Kayla Trich; and his sister, Louise Fowler of Dallastown. Mr. Alloway was preceded in death by his son, William Potter; his daughter, Patricia Potter; his grandson, Brandon Alloway; and his granddaughter, Jennifer Harris. Services for Alton will be private.
