Ann Marie Wagman

YORK Ann Marie Hoff Wagman, 89, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on Sunday July 6th. Known to most as Marie, she was the loving wife of the late John David Wagman. They had been married for 56 years. Born in York, on April 7, 1925, to parents Helen Bush Hoff and H. Jay Hoff, Marie was a graduate of William Penn High School and the University of Pennsylvania. Marie was a registered nurse. She is preceded in death by sisters Charlotte Miller and Betty Hildebrand. She is remembered and survived by her sister Virginia Stein. To cherish her memory Marie leaves behind five daughters and one son; Jane A. Wagman, Jo A. 'Jody' Newcomer and husband Dennis Newcomer, Nancy H. Chaney, Diana H. Wagman, Mary Anna Wagman and husband Korlan Strayer, and J. David Wagman Jr. and wife Melanie Wagman; and six grandchildren, Jennifer Chaney, Jessica Le Holder, Brant Seibert, Caitlin Brennan, Callie Brennan and Georgie Anne-Marie Wagman; and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always optimistic and with a care free spirit. She enjoyed the beach, especially Stone Harbor N.J., reading, played tennis into her 70's and was an avid scrabble player with her family and grandchildren. A private family service will be held followed by a Celebration of Life, of which family and friends are invited, on July 19th at 6:00 pm at the home of Mary Anna Wagman at 150 Hillstream Rd, Red Lion.
