Ann Sluk Rusnak

YORK Ann Sluk Rusnak, 88, formerly of Taylor, Pa., died Monday, December 24, 2012, at Country Meadows of York. Her husband, Andrew, died May 18, 2005. Born in Taylor, on November 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Elechko Sluk. She was a 1942 graduate of Taylor High School. For several years, Ann worked for Riverside High School in their cafeteria, but mostly, she devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Georges Orthodox Church, always there to lend a helping hand at the numerous church functions and was a member of the altar society. Ann loved her family and her church. Her home and garden were particular favorites on which she lavished countless hours of planning, decorating, and planting. Ann's family would like to thank the entire staff at the Trolley Road Campus of Country Meadows of York, the nurses from Country Meadows At Home, and the staff from Heartland Hospice Care for their kind and compassionate care. Surviving are two children, Ann Helene Kufta and husband, Gerald of York, and Andrew Rusnak and wife, Gail of Ambler; four grandchildren, Jared and Christine Kufta, Jason and Heather Kufta, and Abigail and Daniel Rusnak; four great-grandchildren, Julia, John, Emma, and Owen Kufta; two sisters, Margaret Husosky of Old Forge and Mary Adamiak of Taylor; and nieces and nephews. Her funeral was held on Friday in St. George's Orthodox Church, 743 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor. Interment was the parish cemetery.
