Arthur J. Strine IV

YORK Arthur J. "Bud" Strine, IV, 66, died at York Hospital on Thursday, June 27, 2013. Born March 2, 1947, in York, he was the son of Dorothy (Snyder) Strine King of Dover and the late Arthur J. Strine, III. Bud was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired as a machinist in 1999 from Caterpillar, Inc. He was a 1965 graduate of West York High School. Bud was a member of the Rooster Club, the Liberty Club, V.F.W. Post 556 of York, American Legion Post 799 of Pleasureville, and the 13th Ward Democratic Club. In addition to his mother, Bud is survived by two sons, Mark D. Strine and his companion, Stacy Robinson of York, and Jeffrey A. Strine and his husband, Joseph Pigg of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Pamela L. Strine and her companion, Adam Gross of Durango, Colo.; his stepmother, Helen Strine of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, Robert Strine of Nashville, Tenn.; and a sister, Debbie Chisholm Strine of Mobile, Ala. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St. York. A visitation will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. July 11, 2013, at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the York County Veterans Honor Guard, following the service.
