DeEtta Mae Shue

YORK DeEtta Mae (Lentz) Hilker Shue, 88, died Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Normandie Ridge. She was the wife of the late Walter L. Shue. A viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2114 W. Market St. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Stoverstown. Mrs. Shue was born March 26, 1924, in York New Salem, a daughter of the late Emory R. and Mary R. (Glatfelter) Lentz. She was a member of St. Paul's Church and had been employed at South Pine Nightwear and York Cone Co. DeEtta is survived by her children, Jean Hilker, Jayne Neiman, Janice Bartman, Joan Evanitus, Judy Angel, Lorie Shue; a foster son, Frank Hess; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren. She was one of 14 children and is survived by her brothers and sisters, Lavern Lentz, Russell Lentz, William Lentz, Delores Berkheimer, Paul Lentz, Darvin Lentz, Susan Myers, and Frederick Lentz. She was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Hilker; brothers and sister, Dawn, Ralph, and Andrew; grandsons, William Neiman, Jr., Douglas Mummert, and Scott Thoman; and a great-grandson, Chase Altland.
