YORK Donald LeRoy Lewis, 86, peacefully passed on to God's eternal care on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in York after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Lola (Boyce) Lewis. A viewing will be held 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 311 Haines Road, York. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. Dr. Gregory D. Seckman officiating. Interment will be in Stewartstown Cemetery with military honors by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Born February 28, 1927 in Stewartstown, he was the son of the late James Harmon and Alice Louise (Stovall) Lewis. Mr. Lewis served in the United States Navy

and the Korean War
. He received numerous medals and commendations for his service to his country and also received his GED from the Navy. He retired after 20 years as a District Manager of the Chesapeake Life Insurance Co. Mr. Lewis was formerly employed as the owner/operator of the former Torch Light Drive-In in North York and was the owner of Lewis Bros. Painting Contractors in York. Mr. Lewis was a member of the Viking Athletic Association, Viking Athletic Club, Hawks Gunning Club, White Rose VFW
Post #556, all of York and the Pleasureville American Legion Post 799 in Pleasureville. Mr. Lewis was an avid card player. He will be sadly missed by both family and friends alike. He is survived by loving companion, Audrey Ackerman of Wrightsville; daughter, Monica Seifert and her husband Charles of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; son, Roy B. Lewis of York; granddaughters, Aimie Del Rossi of Boothwyn, Emily Wise of York and Jodie Wise of Wrightsville; great-grandson, Britain Longenecker of York; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his late wife and parents, Donald was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.
