Dorothea M. Wallace

MANCHESTER Dorothea M. Wallace, 93, died at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at The Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Shrewsbury. She was the wife of the late John M. Wallace. Born March 9, 1919, in Gatchellville, Fawn Township, she was a daughter of the late Chester H. Bair and the late Mellie M. (Prall) Hartman. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Maurice P. Hartman; and a sister, Gladys G. (Hartman) Diehl. She was a graduate of Fawn Township High School and Thompsons Business School. She was a member of Guinston Presbyterian Church, Chanceford Township, and a former member of Christ Lutheran Church in Manchester, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher for more than 25 years. She will be remembered for her love of quilting, sewing, and gardening, and for the fact that she shared that love by giving her seedlings and creations to many individuals and groups. She is survived by two sons, Larry L. Wallace and his wife, Sandy of Hanover, and J. Thomas Wallace and his wife, Betty of Coudersport; a daughter, Dotty M. Frey and her husband, Rod of Mont Clare; seven grandchildren, Laurie Theisen, Brian Wallace, Kate Remillard, John Wallace, Becky Frey, Dan Frey, and Andrew Frey; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia Theisen, Abe Remillard, Ruth Remillard, Brayden Frey, and Maeve Wallace. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at Guinston Presbyterian Church, 14130 Guinston Forge Road, Airville, with her Pastor, The Rev. Daniel R. Moore, officiating. Viewings will be 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 4, at William E. Little Funeral Homes, Inc., 60 S. Main St., Manchester, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Guinston Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
