Douglas L. Hoover II

Hoover, II NEW OXFORD Douglas L. Hoover, II, 44, entered into God's eternal care on Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Hanover Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Doug was the loving husband of Bobbie J. Hoover. Born January 10, 1969, in Hanover, he was the beloved son of Linda and Frank Shrader of New Oxford and Douglas L. Hoover, Freeport, ME. Doug was a 1987 graduate of New Oxford High School. He was a lifetime member of Lower Swatara Fire Dept., and a dispatcher with Middletown Police and Dauphin County 911. He was also a volunteer and career EMT/firefighter in his lifetime. Doug was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church. He was employed by Esab Welding and Cutting, Hanover Division. Doug loved his Harley Motorcycle and was a member of "Eagles Wings Band of Brothers" riding group of the church. In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by his son, Eric Michael Hoover of Palmyra; his brother, Anthony E. "Jake" Hoover and his wife, Penny and their three daughters, Katlyn Rose, Kallista Jean and Jaden Alexis; his aunt and uncle, Ron and Sally Cornbower; his cousin, Selene and her husband, Jake Minsinger. He also is survived by his step children, Melissa Little and her husband James and Jaimie Lake; six step grandchildren, Novalee, Raina, Shelby, Reily, James, and Eva; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie and James Baldwin. A memorial service celebrating the life of Mr. Hoover will be held at 12 noon on Saturday at Harvest Chapel 6947 York Rd., Abbottstown, with Minister Billy Stitely officiating.
