YORK Eddie Lee Clay, Sr., 54, was called into the presence of God on Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Weaver) Clay. Born on February 15, 1958, in Gurley, Ala., he was the son of the late Alex F.J. and Lucille (Blankenship) Clay. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memories his wife, Barbara A. Clay; three daughters, Rennie Blankenship, Inez Beck, and Edta Clay; three sons, William l. Beck, Jr., Marquise Clay, and Eddie L. Clay, Jr.; two brothers, Woody L. Clay, Sr. and Joe W. Clay, Sr.; three sisters, Charity L. Clay Brittian, Mary L. Clay Riley, and Evelean Clay Mathies; three brothers-in-law, Samuel Brittian, Johnny Riley, Sr., and John Mathies; an aunt, Lucille Humphrey; 19 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and many other relatives, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alex J. Clay and Johnny W. Clay, Sr.; one sister, Ruby M. Clay; one granddaughter, Siy" Eareyana L. Hernadez; and a mother-in-law, Rita Weaver. A viewing from 12 noon to 2 p.m. will be on Sunday, January 27, 2013, at the Gladfelter Funeral Home, Inc., 822 E. Market St.,York. The Rev. Charles Lindeman will be officiating the Going-Home Service at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Lebanon Cemetery, York.
