Edward B. Pencek

YORK Edward B. Pencek, 68, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013, in York Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past six years. Born March 25, 1944, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late Edward A. and Helen B. (Dialekton) Pencek. Ed was a 1962 graduate of the Waynesboro Area Senior High School where he was a member of the marching and concert bands. He was also active in the former Freestaters Drum and Bugle Corps of Hagerstown, Md. Following graduation, Ed enlisted in the United States Air Force serving stateside for 4 years as an Aircraft Mechanic. He had a passion for motorcycling, crafting, cooking and his MAC computer, graphics and various entrepreneurial endeavors. In subsequent years Ed worked as a Tech Writer/ Illustrator and shared his creative talents as a member of his high school class reunion committees. He mastered every new endeavor whether it be music, leather craft or art. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his terrific sense of humor. In addition to his long-time companion and soul mate, Barbara Kuhn, Ed is survived by his children, Kassia Pencek, Edward C. "Ted" Pencek, and Clayton Pencek; his granddaughter, Sarah; his sisters, Georgia Harding and her husband Donald of Smithsburg, Md., Angela Standridge and her husband Charles of Waynesboro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. His funeral service will begin at NOON, Monday, January 28, 2013, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be The Reverend Steven Livermore from Pleasureville United Methodist Church in York. Full military honors will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
