Edward D. Falkenstein

YORK Edward Dale Falkenstein, 79, died Friday, July 18, 2014, at Manor Care Health Services Kingston Court. He was the husband of the late Alyce H. Falkenstein and fiance of Mary Elizabeth Dellinger of York. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York, with the Rev. Richard Owens O.F.M. CAP. as celebrant. Viewing will be one hour prior to Mass. Burial with full military rites presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York, is entrusted with arrangements. Born in York, on November 12, 1934, Mr. Falkenstein was the son of the late Carl H. and Pauline M. (Burger) Falkenstein. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Ed was a member of American Legion Post #799, Pleaseureville, and St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he volunteered for many years at the Catholic Harvest Food Pantry. In addition to his fiancee, Mr. Falkenstein is survived by two sons, William C. Falkenstein and girlfriend, Suzette of York, and Gregory A. Falkenstein of Florida; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Mary E. Hake and husband, Dwight of Red Lion; sister-in-law, Mildred Falkenstein of York; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
