Ella A. McCullough

NEW FREEDOM Ella A. McCullough, 97, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Barbara J. Egan Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Shrews-bury. She was the wife of the late Chester McCullough. Following cremation a memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013, at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 N. Second St., New Freedom, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Banach officiating. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Born August 16, 1915, in Baltimore, Md., Ella attended Redeemer Lutheran Church in Parkton, Md. She enjoyed antiquing and flea markets, especially Menges Mills Market in Spring Grove where Ella had her own table which was known by all as "Grandma's Corner". She was an avid Orioles baseball fan and enjoyed playing Rummy Royal with pennies with her family members. Ella loved her community as well as all her friends. Ella is survived by her son, William A. Miller; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald L. Miller, Sr.; two sisters in their early childhood; a sister, Babe Doebereiner; and a brother, William A. Leimbach.
