Eva E. Guise

DOVER Eva E. Guise, 85, entered into rest at 6:56 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at her home. She was the loving wife of Charles L. Guise. Born October 30, 1928, in Dover Township, Eva was a daughter of the late Elmer L. and Mabel E. (Hoffman) Bentzel. She was a 1947 graduate of Dover Area High School. Eva worked at PADE Auto Auction for 29 years. She was also a loving mother and a homemaker who enjoyed yard sales, antiquing, cooking, camping, and puzzles. Eva was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and a life member of Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, Dover, where she was also president of the Ladies Auxiliary for 17 years. She was a past president of the Dover VFW Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, Eva is survived by two sons, David L. Guise and wife, Sharon of Dover, and Michael L. Guise and wife, Cheri of Lewisberry; three grandchildren, Mikel and Moriah Guise, and Abigail Runk; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Lucas Runk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Guise; a sister, Charlotte M. Lauer; and a brother, Sherman W. Bentzel. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Eva's funeral at 11 a.m. with the viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2014, at Emig Funeral Home, 47 N. Queen St., Dover. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery, Dover. Officiating will be her pastor, the Rev. John M. Woods. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Fire & Hose Co. #1, 30 E.
