Fairy Clements

YORK Fairy (Altland) Clements, 93, died Friday, March 21, 2014, at the York Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the loving wife of the late William Guy Clements, to whom she was married for 69 years. A graveside service will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, is in charge of arrangements. She worked as a medical secretary and was a life member of Paradise (Holtzschwamm) Lutheran Church as well as the Old Holtzschwamm Church Historical Society, where she served as Treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary for 17 years, and was a charter member of Holtzschwamm Senior Citizens. She was a past volunteer for the American Red Cross at West Side (Memorial) Hospital and an active volunteer for 20 years at the Salvation Army, for which she received the "Volunteer of the Year Award". A member of the Eastern Star #169, she was also a member of the Cedarettes Marching Unit, a life member of the Thomasville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and the West York V.F.W Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Clements is survived by a son, Rodney Guy Clements and his wife, Angela of Camp Hill; a daughter, Susan Faye Clements-Shrader and her husband, Joseph of York; four grandchildren, Rodney G.B. Clements, Brooks C. Clements, Eric M. Shrader, and Amy Shrader-Glusco; and four great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 50 E.
